The issue of employers’ honoring pension promises has arisen over the last few years in the airline and automotive industries. From United Airlines to Delphi Corporation, changing circumstances has changed the nature of those promises. Is it important to care for employees, first and foremost? Or does the well being of the corporation take precedence? Either way, this topic is very complicated. The team that understands the distinction in pension plans, the bankruptcy and pension laws, and specific corporate examples will be able to handle this topic well.
